We can do more to provide support for the homeless community in Kenosha.

The homeless community in Kenosha needs support. While Kenosha has good resources, I have heard many times from homeless residents and from nonprofits that there aren’t enough resources to help everyone who needs it. Kenosha must look to homeless people not as a problem to be solved, but as neighbors to be helped.

I believe that

  • Every person deserves a home to go home to and a warm bed to sleep in.

  • Every person deserves to eat every day.

  • Loving your neighbor means helping the homeless.

It’s not our responsibility to criticize or condemn people who do not have a home.

It is our responsibility to ask ourselves “What is the happening in our society that would allow people to fall this far down, and what can we do to help these people back up?”

I promise to work with the city and non-profit organizations to find resources to better support the homeless here in Kenosha.
